Memo: Test Schedule for Tests at Sandy Beach

This previously classified “Secret” document from Los Alamos National Laboratory is a quick memo outlining the schedule for the (atomic) testing programs at Kingman Arizona and “Sandy Beach”. Sandy Beach or simply “SB” was the location name for what would become the Salton Sea Test Base.

Getting the test base ready for the testing of the atomic test-bombs was clearly important to the military.  Even though this memo from F.L. Ashworth was addressed primarily to W.S. Parsons, the first name on the Carbon Copy list is “Oppenheimer”, or J. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb.

Top Secret document regarding the Salton Sea test-site schedule.
